It makes enough sense for what's happening, especially since Kai's brain is still trying to process that this is a real thing that is happening. Their lips meeting works to do much more convincing than the words possibly could have.
It's such a simple thing and yet such a foreign sensation; he'd had a kiss or too when he was in Enna's body but that was years ago now and with this new body it all feels very different. There's a soft little noise of surprise, as if part of him still didn't really expect it, but before long he's leaning into the kiss as well, tentatively raising one of his own hands to touch Bashasa's face.
Whether or not he consciously hears the groan and understands what it means, he unconsciously does and there's a slightly shiver in response. It's like a floodgate opening of all these things he thought he could never have, not after Kentdessa fell, not Bashasa of all people, and while he's still obviously unpracticed he's experimenting with the kiss and making it deeper already.
