“Is it?” Kai sighs. There are so many weird cultural things that he’s not used to; the strict divide between only two genders is one, and apparently he’s stumbled onto another here. “What, are people really supposed to not have sex unless they are specifically trying to bear children?”
That should be a clear answer at least- having sex for pleasure isn’t hedonistic, it’s normal in Kai’s mind.
